Hello beloved readers and friends!
My name is Dimitri Adriano and I am
an international business and economics student at the University of South
Carolina. No further ado, I am aware of how impatient you are to read my exciting
and adventurous chronicles for this upcoming five-month journey to Hong Kong,
but no worries, they will be here soon enough!
However, before we begin, I would
like you to know a little bit about myself, Hong Kong and why I chose to study there
this semester.
I like to think of myself as an
energetic person that is always on the run. Uncommonness interests me and
learning new things is itself a great reward. Simply meeting, talking to and
learning from new people is also a great part of me.
Hong Kong is a vibrant cosmopolitan
metropolis that has developed into one of the world’s largest financial centers
while keeping its culture and traditions. I could just stop here and it would
be enough for you to know how amazing the place is but I will add more. A former British colony that has just recently gained its autonomy, Hong
Kong managed to find balance between a newer and westernized city and the
strong roots of its local population. Being a free trade oriented economy and having a population of over seven million people has also assisted with the success and
the uniqueness of the region.

From those reasons and many more, I
believe studying business in Hong Kong for a semester will be a unique
opportunity and that is why I chose to do so.
So, if you are just as excited as I
am about Hong Kong and you appreciate a good story, continue following me here!
